Last year I was introduced to playfulness of painting from computer manipulated digital photos. Using photos that I had taken from around my environment I chose a few to manipulate through photo editing software. The two free software programs I tested my skills on were fantastic. Firstly I downloaded Paint.net from www.getpaint.net, I found it very easy to navigate and the options available suited the style of manipulation that I was after. The second photo editor is one that is used online rather than downloading the software you can upload your image and then manipulate it before saving back onto your computer. Here is an example of what can be done; the following photos are from photo, to edit, to painting in acrylic paint onto canvas, completed in 2015.
I have a series planned for the near future using these techniques, I am still in the planning stages at present, I’ll keep you posted.
